... Well, this is quite a surprise! According to the USK, Germany’s equivalent of the ESRB, the Phoenix Wright series is coming to the Wii in some capacity. Unfortunately, the USK rating did not specify if this will be a WiiWare or retail release. The news hasn’t been officially confirmed by Capcom yet, but I don’t see how this classification could be incorrect. And remember, Capcom’s Christian Svensson said a few months ago that the series could “technically” land on Nintendo’s console. Source Related posts: ...

Gamerbytes is reporting on an interesting new addition to the German USK rating system's website, the additional of a 'Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney'. The site does mention that it's coming to the Wii, but doesn't mention whether or not it's coming to the Wii as a disc based product or as a downloadable game on the WiiWare service. ...

"Will it be episodic?"
"When is it out?"
"How much will this cost me?"
"Is there anything new being added to the Wii version?"
Will have to wait for a more official announcement. Judging by the title, though, don't go holding your breath for a new game, or a collection. This is probably just a straight-up port of the existing PC version of Ace Attorney.

The listing is real, but I don’t know that it was filed correctly. Capcom just told everyone that Phoenix Wright makes more sense on the DS, and would stay portable. Would they really be pulling a Nintendo-like trick on us? Thanks to all those that sent this in!

The Phoenix Wright series has been very popular for the Nintendo DS, and according to the German Software rating board, we could be seeing the franchise make the jump to the Wii. We’ll see if Capcom confirms or denies this in the next couple days.

... this is a WiiWare release. Unless there is some sort of new content, a disc release would be retail suicide.
Of course, the mind boggles when I ponder what Wii-specific features they could throw in. I’m not talking about such minor things as voice acting and cleaner artwork! I would buy the game again just for the opportunity to thrust the wiimote at the tv and hear a shout of “Objection!” echo from the remote’s speaker.

A rating on Germany's USK database suggests that Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney is being planned for Wii. "Objection!!", you may say, thrilled to have the opportunity to work that in. "Didn't Ace Attorney Investigations producer Motohide Eshiro already say that the series would remain on handhelds?"
While it's true that future Ace Attorney games will probably be on handhelds, the series has already been ported to PC, proving that someone within Capcom -- and not necessarily anyone ...

... hit consoles will likely be an older port, it is good to see the franchise expanding to new platforms. Of course, nothing is official at this point, but please tell me I'm not the only one that gets really excited thinking about the possibility of presenting evidence with an over-dramatic flourish of the Wii remote. Maybe this will help to make up for Phoenix Wright's glaring omission from Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.
